INSURANCE SCHEME:
A Group Scheme has been arranged with a major insurance company through Giles Insurance Brokers. We have particularly chosen this Broker as they are represented in each of our Regions. Giles has agreed to grant preferential rates to members in order to attract volume business. Our brokers now have increasing expertise in all aspects of Bakery Insurance. Past experience shows us that when existing Brokers are beaten in quotation they can come back with a matching quote. It is suggested that if this is the case they hardly deserve to retain the business as they should have produced the most competitive quotation in the first place and, of course, their quote will not take account of the percentage paid to the Association. This service is strongly recommended to members.

CLEARING HOUSE:
The Clearing House service has been introduced to combat the ever increasing level of bank charges. Members are provided with a schedule on which they complete the suppliers name and the amount due to them. The sums due are then totalled and one cheque is sent to the Clearing House accompanied by copy invoices or statements or remittance advices on dates advised. Three clearings per month can be utilised and the only cost to the member is a nominal annual charge of £30 which will be invoiced by the Clearing House. There are, however, substantial savings in administration, bank charges and postages. Full details will be provided by Atholl House on request. There are very considerable savings to be made on this scheme which is very easy to administer.

PROPERTY LOANS:
Property loans can be negotiated through the Scottish Plumbers Federation at very competitive rates. Full details from Atholl House.

LODGE SERVICES:
An arrangement has been made with this security company who will do spot checks on counter staff on a selected number of occasions. If defalcations are identified they will also help in interviewing and give guidance on best procedure. Competitive quotes are available and an introductory commission is paid to the Association.

SKILLSEEKERS:
The Association is a Managing Agent for the Skillseeker Training Programme and will recruit trainees and monitor their training over a two year period during which a subsidy is paid to the member. The Training Programme which is linked to the "Rising to the Challenge" Training Pack will bring the trainee to a Level 2 Scottish Vocational Qualification. The Association can subsequently deliver SVQ Level 3 and Modern Apprenticeship Training. Full details available from the Training Department at Atholl House.

THE FOLLOWING SERVICES CAN ALSO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO YOUR STAFF

AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION:
Preferential rates are still available at approximately 30% of the normal cost. This excellent scheme has been running for a number of years.

COUNTDOWN:
A discount card is available which is operable in very many outlets, hotels, restaurants, travel agents etc throughout the UK. The retail cost of the card is £45 but is available to members for £3.

HOLIDAY / BARRHEAD TRAVEL:
We have an arrangement with Barrhead Travel whereby substantial discounts are available on holiday and business travel for members, their staff, family and friends through quoting SAMB when making reservations.

CAR HIRE:
Discounts of 20% on very beneficial terms can be arranged through National Car Rent
